In 2009, ARM encountered financial difficulties due to a reduction in donations from several of its main benefactors. The benefactors’ finances were affected by the depressed U.S. economy and the trickle-down effect left ARM in a struggle to survive. In 2011, ARM was on the brink of financial collapse, and was forced to consider shutting down the program completely, leaving a huge void for current and future clients in need of the program. In late 2011 and early 2012, ARM instituted extreme cost-cutting measures, (i.e. closure of the women’s program, layoff of key staff and pay decreases for the remaining staff). Additionally, the number of clients served has been reduced to less than a third of our normal capacity.

The recently formed ARM Alumni group has approximately 50 active members in the Dallas area who meet on a monthly basis for prayer and fellowship. They also provide financial support in the manner of monthly contributions and many mentor current ARM clients and/or teach weekly ARM classes.  Most of these men and their families are active members of Golden Gate church.

Our organization can only achieve its goals with the assistance of generous donations from members of our community. Without these donations, serving those in our area would not be possible. We ask that you make a commitment to support our annual appeal by making a donation. This year’s goal is $256,902.00 and we hope you will join us in accomplishing that goal. Donations can be structured as one-time annual donations or monthly/quarterly pledges. All donations are tax deductible.
