From the Director // OBIE BUSSEY

It is with great joy that I reflect on the goodness of God.  God has truly blessed the ARM program over the past 18 months to transition from a primarily church funded ministry to a more financially independent ministry.   Golden Gate Missionary Baptist Church has been the primary donor for ARM since its inception, but through the fundraising efforts of the ARM staff and board, the church has been able to reduce its support from 95% to 33% of the ARM budget.

In February 2012 we asked the former graduates of the program to give financially to ARM.  We had 50 ARM alumni member who gave monthly for one year.  This capital campaign was very successful and aided the program in its efforts to become more financially independent.  During this same time we started The Bridge Group which meets monthly with the goal of transitioning the alumni members from serving primarily in ARM, to serving in ARM and their home churches.   

 

In January 2013, we asked a group of the alumni brothers to move their service to the ARM ministry to another level by serving on the newly formed ARM Panel.  The Panel gives governance to the day-to-day operations of the ARM ministry.  ARM has alumni serving in all areas of the ministry, from teaching classes, to serving on the panel, to taking time out of their lives to fellowship with current clients.  ARM is truly living out its theme, modeled after 2 Timothy 2:2 “being equipped to equip”.
